Liposuction is a broad term used for several types of fat reduction techniques. These techniques may employ laser beams, ultrasounds or are liquid assisted to make the fat easier to remove and reduce side effects. There are a lot of advantages of having a Liposuction surgery, and these are a few reasons to opt for this type of slimming procedure.
1. Fat Removal
Liposuction is recommended for patients that would like to eliminate extra pounds in a single procedure. The Liposuction procedures involve surgery and the extraction of fat with a thin cannula that will be inserted under the skin. The fat may be warmed up, melted or injected with liquid before the removal, depending on which Liposuction technique is employed.
2. Immediate Results
The Liposuction surgery will suction the fat and the results will be visible immediately after the procedure. There are a few Liposuction procedures that will require a few weeks until the optimal results show, but this time in minimal compared to the time required for weight loss using traditional methods, such as dieting or exercise.
3. No Dieting and Strenuous Exercise Required
Liposuction removes fat in just a few hours and the patient will be able to see the results after the procedure. The other fat reducing alternatives, such as dieting or exercise, will require a lot of patience, perseverance and consistency.
There may also be problem areas where fat cannot be removed unless suctioned with a Liposuction treatment. These problem areas can include the stomach or the face.
However, to maintain the results of a Liposuction treatment, the patient will need to have a balanced diet and avoid overeating and leading a sedentary life.
4. Minimal Risks
The less invasive Liposuction procedures will involve minimal incisions, and there will be minimal risks during and after the procedure.
5. Wide Range of Procedures Available
There are a multitude of Liposuction procedures available, which can be chosen according to each patient’s requirements in part. Some Liposuction procedures may remove larger amounts or fat, while others will remove only small amounts of fat from sensitive areas.
The Liposuction procedures may be:
- Water assisted (i.e. Body Jet Liposuction, Vaser Liposelection)
- Laser beam assisted (i.e. Cool Lipo, Smart Lipo or Slim Lipo) using different frequencies adapted for each area of fat in part
- Assisted by ultrasounds (i.e. Vaser Liposelection)
These procedures may be chosen according to the area treated. For instance, the fat on the back area may be more difficult to remove without the fat being melted and dislodged first, so a procedure such as Vaser Liposelection may be indicated.
6. Skin Tightening Effect
The newer Liposuction techniques available will also stimulate the collagen under the skin, and this will mean that the skin will get tighter after the procedure, eliminating the unaesthetic saggy skin that is common after weight loss.
