A Nose Surgery can have multiple benefits and modify the appearance of the face, while also solving possible health issues generated by an incorrect nose structure. A Nose Surgery can be combined with other cosmetic treatments, if the patient would like to get an additional improvement of the face or the skin.
Facelift or Cheek Lift
A patient that gets a Nose Surgery may often require a facelift or a cheek lift. The facelift is recommended if the patient has a lot of excess facial skin and deeper wrinkles. A cheek lift is a less complex surgery that will focus on the cheek area only.
The lifts should be performed after the Nose Surgery, so that the plastic surgeon sees the new coordinates of the nose and is able to perform the changes accordingly. The Nose Surgery and a face lift can be performed in one surgery, especially if the surgeon would like to utilize some excess skin to reconstruct the nose.
Minimally Invasive Liposuction
A patient that has facial fat can opt for a minimally invasive or non invasive liposuction procedure, which will get rid of the fat. The liposuction may be performed at the same surgery as the Nose Surgery, so that only 1 anesthesia is required.
Skin Resurfacing
Skin resurfacing treatments such as Fraxel or Genesis skin rejuvenation can be recommended for patients that have different skin texture problems, large pores or scars they would like to eliminate.
Most skin resurfacing techniques use laser beams, which will reduce the recovery time and will minimize the risks of damaging the skin.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers can be used in patients that are considering to eliminate wrinkles and fine lines or would like a lip enhancement procedure.
The dermal fillers available today are:
- Hyaluronic acid fillers
- Animal collagen dermal fillers (bovine or porcine collagen)
- Synthetic human collagen
The dermal fillers may be applied at the same time with the Nose Surgery or after, whenever the patient decides to get these. Some of the most commonly used dermal fillers used today include Evolence, Artefill or Cosmoderm.
BOTOX®
Botox® is a treatment that can be used in conjunction with a Nose Surgery and can be applied in different muscles of the face to eliminate dynamic wrinkles. The injections containing botulinum toxin can be applied before or after the Nose Surgery.
Acne Treatment
An acne treatment can be combined with a Nose Surgery, but it should be applied after the surgery. The acne treatment can be performed with lasers or a series of medication.
If applied before the surgery, the drug acne treatment should be discontinued for 6 months prior to the surgery, so that the retinoids won’t interfere with the Nose Surgery.
