No, really. And this study was not conducted by plastic surgeons!
Dr. Cynthia Figueroa-Haas, a clinical professor of nursing at the University of Florida, talked to 84 women as part of her doctoral research. She wanted to document what had already occurred to her when she worked for a cosmetic surgeon. She asked the women about self-esteem & sexuality perceptions, before and after breast augmentation.
It turns out that men aren't the only ones who get a lift out of bigger breasts.
In Figueroa-Haas' study, the average participant experienced both increased self-esteem and sexual function following augmentation. She remarked in a report for ThirdAge.com that even patients who went only from an A cup to a B experienced noticeable change in self-perception.
She feels like her study is not only helpful for other nurses who work with patients utilizing cosmetic surgery, but that it provides balance against the myriad advertisements and social attention paid to men's sexuality issues as compared to women's.
