Celebrity Plastic Surgery Candidate: Vanna White
Vanna White has been dressing up and turning letters on Wheel of Fortune for over 25 years now and she seems to continue enjoying her job. She always smiles while she works (at least for the cameras) and she's usually got something slightly witty to say when Pat Sajak makes a comment in her direction. But twenty five years of turning letters has got to be a drain sometimes. And Vanna's face is starting to show the effects. If you've watched the show recently and seen a close-up of Vanna's face, you can see that she's starting to see some serious signs of aging. The wrinkles are no longer covered up by make-up. And the skin is starting to sag in a way that says gravity has been doing its work. So is Vanna White considering celebrity plastic surgery? Vanna has been quiet over the years about the plastic surgery question. No one seems to really know for sure what she has or hasn't had done in order to keep her appearance up for the television cameras. There were rumors in the past that she had Botox for a brief time but quit doing it. She's admitted to electrolysis for hair removal. But she avoids the plastic surgery question for the most part (although denying it on occasion). Does Vanna need to consider treatment to keep up her appearance which seems to be an important part of the show? Her body doesn't show the same signs of aging so she'd be looking at facial treatments if she decided to move forward with plastic surgery. But perhaps she's content to turn letters and grow old gracefully even with the cameras rolling. photo link

TV Celebrity Plastic Surgery: Nip/Tuck
"Tell us what you don't like about yourself," rings the motto of much loved plastic surgery television show Nip/Tuck. The motto speaks to the darker side of plastic surgery, to the fact that there are some people out there who get plastic surgery in an attempt to diminish their low self esteem problems. We can't blame the show for picking at the seedy side of plastic surgery. After all, a television show about people who mostly like their bodies and just want to tweak a little something with plastic surgery for a better appearance really wouldn't be all that compelling to watch. It's just a little too much like real life, right? Still, after a strong start, Nip/Tuck faltered last season with its story line. The characters were weak. The story moved back and forth in time. And there was less attention to plastic surgery than there was to the muddled lives of the surgeons. Viewers wondered if Nip/Tuck would even return for another season. Alas, the time has come. Christian Troy and Sean McNamara will be back on television starting tomorrow night. And it'll be interesting to see what these television celebrity plastic surgery doctors have in store for viewers now. The hope by many viewers is that we'll get a better look at what celebrity plastic surgery is all about. This hope springs from the fact that Nip/Tuck has moved from its old home to a new plastic surgery office in the Los Angeles area. The doctors are going to be getting a new start in the home of the stars. And perhaps we'll get to see them experience a new clientele as well? Maybe we'll even see them return to showing more plastic surgery on the screen and a little less of the off topic drama that drew last season down the drain. photo link

Celebrity Plastic Surgery: Queen Latifah's Breast Reduction
Queen Latifah is a woman who is not on the small side. And she's perfectly okay with that. Speaking in interviews recently, she said that she's happy to see that there are more celebrities representing different shapes and sizes in today's industry. There's no longer just one standard of beauty and she's happy to be a curvaceous gal who is known for both her talent and her appearance. In fact, Queen Latifah wouldn't mind being just a little bit more curvaceous. She recently spoke about the breast reduction surgery that she had years ago and said that she's sad to say that she had a little bit too much removed.
"I had lost 25 pounds and my breasts didn't go anywhere! I was still carrying that load," she tells the magazine. However, "I didn't quite want them to be this small," she laughs. Before surgery, Latifah says she was "an E or an F cup. I was pretty big. Now I'm like a DD. I wanted to be a triple. They took one D too many! So that was hard to deal with. … I missed my old look."
So is Queen Latifah thinking about getting breast augmentation to get some of that old size back in her bra? No, she's not. Despite the fact that she had the work done, she doesn't think that plastic surgery should be taken lightly. She's not supportive of going in again and again to work on the same area of the body. But she does wish that she was a little bustier like back in the old days. photo link

Celebrity Plastic Surgery Victim: Courtney Love
Courtney Love is getting attention from the media again these days because of the fact that she's working in conjunction with filmmakers and other professionals to create a new movie about the life of her late husband, Kurt Cobain. Amongst more informative details about the movie, it's been noted that perhaps Courtney isn't the best celebrity to play her former self in the movie due to the fact that her extensive celebrity plastic surgery has changed her appearance so much since that time. Courtney Love has taken a lot of heat for her plastic surgery choices and their results. When she got her nose job done, there were comments made that the nose deviates slightly to the left due to the difficulty of performing rhinoplasty on a nose shaped like hers. Several years ago, she also got negative attention in the media for the work that she'd had done on her lips that made them a little bit too big and none too pretty for the camera. At the beginning of this year, Love reportedly vowed for her New Year's Resolution that she was done with celebrity plastic surgery once and for all. But are Courtney Love's celebrity plastic surgery choices really that bad? The truth is that most of her post-surgery pictures were probably taken too close to the time of surgery, giving exaggerated results. And although people are still commenting negatively about her inability to perform as a 'look-alike' to her younger self in the upcoming film, Love's looks haven't actually changed so much that she's unrecognizable. photo link

Tips for Health after Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery
Bariatric weight loss surgery is designed to assist the morbidly obese in losing weight. The goal is to improve the overall health of the patient by reducing the risks that are associated with obesity. However, for optimum health to be obtained, it is important that the surgery only be a starting point to getting on the right track for a healthy lifestyle. After the weight loss surgery is complete, patients need to engage in appropriate exercise and a healthy diet in order to maintain the benefits of the surgery. Bariatric surgeon Teresa LaMasters was recently interviewed by the Des Moines Register about her work. It that interview, she said that she finds the two biggest post-surgery problems amongst her patients to be "portion control and a sedentary lifestyle". In other words, if you get your weight loss surgery and lose the weight but then let your eating get out of control and sit on the couch all day … you aren't going to get the health benefits that you want to get from the surgery. Addressing the two key areas noted by LaMasters, it is important that patients of weight loss surgery cut down on the amount that they are eating while increasing their exercise. This doesn't mean that you have to starve yourself or that you have to go to the gym every day. But if you can reduce the size of your plates, eating small meals several times throughout the day instead of bingeing on large meals a couple of times each day, you'll help control your portion intake. And if you start walking regularly, swimming in the summer and shoveling snow instead of paying someone else to do it, you'll get the exercise that you need without requiring a gym membership. photo link

Celebrity Plastic Surgery: Kimberly Stewart's Nose Job
A report came out last week that Kimberly Stewart, daughter of Rod Stewart, had celebrity plastic surgery done to decrease the size of her nose. The consensus amongst plastic surgeons and Hollywood gossip mongers seems to be that the rhinoplasty was indeed done and that it serves Stewart well.
"Photos of Kimberly reveal a nose that has a considerably thinner and straighter bridge and a tip that is smaller than her previously bulbous one. The result is very aesthetically pleasing, as the smaller nose gives Kimberly a more feminine and refined look, compared to her old nose that drew too much attention away from her otherwise attractive features."
That's the way that good nose surgery is designed to work. It takes the old nose and simply improves the shape to make the face look more attractive overall. The effect is achieved not so much because the nose itself looks better but because the nose is more congruent with the rest of the face. Prior to rhinoplasty, the nose tends to stand out as the striking feature on the face, as was the case with Kimberly Stewart. Post-surgery, the goal is really that people don't even notice the nose because it plays such a great supporting role that the star (the face) is what gets attention. photo link

Why are Suicide Rates High after Weight Loss Surgery?
There has been some shocking news making the rounds of conversation amongst people interested in weight loss surgery. A recent report revealed that a study showed that suicide rates were significantly higher amongst people who have undergone weight loss surgery than they are amongst the general population. People are using this information to suggest that weight loss surgery leads to suicide. However, this simple extrapolation of the facts fails to take into consideration many of the other factors that should be added into the equation. The findings of the study showed that out of a group of 440 people who died after weight loss surgery, 16 were suicide or drug overdose deaths. This is more than five times higher than what it would be for the normal population. However, this study does not take into consideration what the rates of suicide are amongst people with severe obesity. These rates are higher than the normal rates. For accurate statistics, one would really need to look at what the average rate of death is amongst the clinically obese and compare that number to the number of deaths after weight loss surgery. This difference is important because it addresses the underlying reasons that people who have undergone weight loss surgery may commit suicide. Suicide is a result of depression which is known to be a problem amongst people who are obese. It is possible that people who have undergone weight loss surgery are anticipating that their problems with depression will subside once they have lost weight. When this doesn't occur, they may be ill-equipped to deal with the consequences. None of this indicates that people who undergo weight loss surgery are prone to committing suicide. Instead, it suggests that people should take a good look at why they are planning weight loss surgery and what they hope to gain from it. An honest look at the emotions behind the surgery will assist patients in coping with the emotional aftermath of the surgery. The changes that can be brought about because of weight loss surgery are mostly positive and looking at things in the right light reminds us of that fact. photo link

Celebrity Plastic Surgery: Riki's Rhinoplasty
Awful Plastic Surgery reports that Ricki Lake has gotten a nose job and that it's looking none too pretty. The writer of the post happened to be a fan of Ricki's original nose. But it isn't just that they think the work shouldn't have been done, they say that the nose surgery was done badly:
"Too much was taken off original nose to try and create a cute little button nose. That in itself is the essence of bad rhinoplasty. Good rhinoplasty merely refines what is already there."
That's a true statement. Rhinoplasty is a fairly simple procedure. It's a common form of celebrity plastic surgery which can make a major difference to a face in no time at all. But it has to be done correctly or it ends up looking like … well, is it bad to keep going back to Michael Jackson as the prime example of celebrity plastic surgery gone wrong? Done correctly, a nose job reshapes what's already there to create more attractive angles for the face. In the case of the celebrity nose job, the re-shaping is designed specifically to make the angles of the face look more favorable in photographs. Reduction is common for a nose job, since most people who get rhinoplasty want a smaller nose. But it's more about the shape than the size. And it's more about you liking it than anyone else so as long as Ricki is happy with her schnoz, who are we to talk? photo link

Dr. Dave Describes the Difference Between LipoDissolve and Botox
The Sun Chronicle recently did an article about Dr. Dave David, a cosmetic dermatologist who has experience in celebrity plastic surgery and who know applies that experience to making average people look like stars. The article explains that Dr. Dave is a big fan of lipo dissolve and wants to let others know what it's all about. It also explains how LipoDissolve and Botox differ from one another. It's actually somewhat surprising that people think that Botox and LipoDissolve are the same thing since they serve different, related purposes. However, since they are both injections used for the purpose of improving appearance, perhaps it's not a stretch to think that the differences could be a little confusing. For those who aren't in the know, Dr. Dave lays it out. He also lets people know that he uses both products. Dr. Dave is saying that although he uses Botox, he's focusing a lot right now on what he can do for cosmetic surgery patients using LipoDissolve. That's because he believes that this is the next big beauty thing that's trickling down from the stars to the average person, just like Botox did. He's helping to bring it to the people by doing lipo dissolve procedures at med spas in the Boston area. photo credit

Helen Mirren Would Get Lipo on Her Legs
Have you ever wondered about what plastic surgery your favorite celebrities would get if they haven't already done so? If Helen Mirren happens to be one of your favorite stars, you don't need to wonder any longer. The actress recently said that if she was going to get plastic surgery done, then she'd get lipo on her legs. Apparently she thinks that those legs are a little too weighty for the kind of look she's going for when she goes up on stage to her Oscar. Mirren hasn't actually had plastic surgery yet and isn't necessarily saying that she's going to. It's kind of interesting to see a 60-something actress talk about how she's not quite yet ready for lipo and other plastic surgery when there are actresses in their twenties doing it on a regular basis. Is that a testimony to the changing times? Mirren says that she's not yet unhappy enough with her legs to get lipo but that if she felt like the appearance of her legs was making her unhappy, she wouldn't hesitate to get the lipo to change how she felt about herself. photo credit

Ashlee Plastic Simpson Surgery: Dancing Around The Topic
One of the biggest fears of self-conscious twenty-somethings is that they'll go to the club, try to dance and end up looking foolish. No one wants to be that guy in the corner that everyone is laughing at because he's just too awkward in his movements. But step that up to star level where the media circus is all around and your bad dance choices are suddenly on display for the whole world to see. At least, that was the case recently for Ashlee Simpson whose dancing at a recent Fall Out Boy Concert was described by I Don't Like You In That Way as similar in appearance to "a baby giraffe being hit by a taser". Ouch. Ashlee Simpson may not be able to move right every time but she's sure not slacking in the looks department. The photos of her in classic Fall Out Boy black show her look young and vulnerable in that sexy kind of way. Of course, it helps that she has had celebrity plastic surgery and isn't afraid to admit it. She is one of those celebrities that is happy to change the things that she is less than happy about and move on with her life, dancing the night away. photo credit

Did Nicole Kidman Get Awful Plastic Surgery?
It was reported last week by Awful Plastic Surgery that Nicole Kidman just might be the latest celebrity plastic surgery victim. The site takes a close look at her breasts and sees that she seems to have gotten some work done there. They don't say whether it looks like breast augmentation or a breast lift but they do point out that it looks like plastic surgery gone wrong. Of course, it could just be a bad angle on the picture and we're not going to know for sure since Nicole isn't talking. When you get plastic surgery, you do run the risk of coming out with an appearance that you don't like. Women have certainly had breast implants done that didn't turn out well and gave a lumpy appearance to the body. However this is rare and can be remedied through reparation surgery. You probably aren't going to end up looking like you just had awful plastic surgery. And Kidman? Even if the look in that photo isn't up to par, she's still one of the sexiest women out there. photo credit

Cosmetic Plastic Surgery for Smoking-Related Problems
We all know that smoking is bad for you. Most of us got the unfortunate chance to see pictures in health class of lungs damaged by years of smoking. (Some of us even had to see actual smoke-damaged lung tissue during special presentations.) It's a serious issue, but there are also cosmetic effects of smoking that tend to get discussed less because of the more serious topics associated with the problem. The folks over at the Beverly Hills Institute pointed out some of the other effects of smoking in a recent post. As they note, smoking can cause a significant amount of damage to the face. When you look at it simply, that gray smoke that is curling up from your lips is hitting your cheeks and can cause the skin to take on that same grayish appearance. Wrinkles on the face are also caused by smoking. You can reduce the effects of smoking using cosmetic plastic surgery designed to improve the appearance of the face. But chemical peels will only help you so much; maybe it's time to put that cigarette away? photo credit

Celebrity Plastic Surgery Galleries: Turn On or Turn Off?
When you get plastic surgery, you want people to think that you look fabulous. You don't particularly want people to remember what you looked like before the surgery; you just want them to see the new you. But when it comes to celebrity plastic surgery, people have a strong interest in seeing the before and after. They want to know that someone who looks so stunning now didn't always look that way. That explains the popularity of online plastic surgery galleries depicting the before and after of the appearances of the stars. They probably want to be seen as just the new version of themselves as well but this isn't so easy for them since there are pictures out there documenting all of the changes. How do you feel about such documentation in your own life? Is there a part of you that wants people to see you pre-plastic surgery to confirm what a great thing it is for your life? Or do you want to bury those pictures as much as many of the celebrities probably wish that they could bury theirs, starting over with the new look? photo credit

Liposuction: Bad Celebrity Plastic Surgery or Necessary Evil?
Liposuction is a fairly common procedure done by everyone from the average soccer mom to the most well-known celebrities. The reason that liposuction can be done by both of these groups is that it's a surgery which is intended for people who are basically of average weight. Other types of weight loss surgery may be meant for the truly overweight but liposuction is for people who simply have a little fat here or there that they want to get rid of. There is, of course, the argument that liposuction is a bad form of celebrity plastic surgery because of the negative impact it can have on the body's appearance immediately following the procedure. Luckily, the procedure is improving to the point where this argument's validity is flying out the window as fast as the fat is flowing away from the body. What do you think? Should the stars get lipo or suck it in and spend their time in the gym? photo credit

Transgender Celebrity Plastic Surgery
Boys will be … girls? With the assistance of plastic surgery some of the hottest women celebrities these days didn't have to start life out as women. The options are wide open for changing your appearance subtly or drastically with plastic surgery and we can see the drastic side of that when a man makes the transition to woman and achieves success in an industry dominated by beauty. The folks over at Hollywood's Hottest Looks have been dishing about what kind of facial plastic surgery would be necessary to make that happen, using the hot Candis Cayne from Dirty, Sexy, Money is as their example of such success. What are women to do when their competition seems to be coming from all sides? Get the fix-up themselves perhaps?

Did Hillary Duff Get Celebrity Plastic Surgery Or Just A Push-Up Bra?
Make Me Heal is spreading around the potential rumors that Hillary Duff has invested her celebrity funds into breast augmentation or a possible breast lift procedure. They fully admit that there's a good chance that there was no celebrity plastic surgery here; Duff's visible changes could be simply the effect of good push-up bra. But with stars getting breast augmentation left and right, it wouldn't be so much of a shocker to find that this young celebrity is trying to boost her career with a boost to her boobs. photo credit

The G-Spot is No Myth
Many women unfortunately believe that the G-spot is a myth. Dr. David L. Matlock, medical director and pioneer in G-spot amplification, is letting women know that the G-spot is no myth. Many women simply haven't been able to find their G-spot on their own or to find a partner who can stimulate it for them to give them those screaming orgasms they read about monthly in women's magazines. Through G-spot amplification, these women can be taught about the location and workings of their G-spot. And even women who know their G-spot well can benefit from the amplification which heightens the sensation of stimulation. Does it sound a little bit terrifying to get your G-spot surgically amplified? Perhaps it sounds like it, but the only screaming you'll be doing after the surgery is the good kind. G-spot amplification is a quick and painless procedure in which collage is injected into the G-spot to improve the sensitivity and heighten awareness of this magical location within the body of any woman. G-spot Amplification was created and developed by Dr. David Matlock who also works in other areas of surgical vaginal rejuvenation. He's a female-friendly doctor who has worked hard to make the procedure beneficial to women while minimizing any discomfort. The injection is a quick procedure with total exam room time being less than fifteen minutes. The result, which lasts approximately four months, looks a lot like … well, go look at your "O face" in the mirror and imagine the effects quadrupled. photo credit

Winona Ryder's Bad Celebrity Plastic Surgery Pictures
*Winona Ryder photo from suburbia.net Anyone who loved the movie Reality Bites had to love it in part because the character played by Winona Ryder was done so well. Winona was sexy in that cute kind of way that made men love her while girls didn't hate her. It's been a long time since that movie came out and Winona Ryder has done more than her fair share of growing up. Maybe it was the aging factor that made her start looking into cosmetic surgery for her face. According to recent celebrity gossip, Ryder has become a victim of bad plastic surgery. The report is that she got a brow lift that didn't go so well. If the before and after pictures that are available are correct, Ryder's girlish looks are gone. Even if the brow lift was successful, the lines around her eyes are begging for placement in a hall of bad celebrity pictures.

What Procedures Do Celebrity Plastic Surgery Photos Make You Want To Get?
If you flip through the gossip rags or watch the entertainment television shows, you probably stay fairly well aware of the trends in celebrity plastic surgery. And if you're aware of these trends, you know that there are certain cosmetic procedures that are trendy at any given time. Breast enhancement was big for a long time and then faded a little bit as they went out of the celebrity spotlight. Dermal fillers became popular once people began to learn that celebrities use them. What procedures do the current celebrity plastic surgery photos out there make you want to get? Photo from The Worldly.

Celebrity Nose Surgery on MTV's "The Hills"
*photo of Heidi Montag from Buzznet If you're a fan of the MTV reality-based show "The Hills" (or even if you just keep up on celebrity plastic surgery gossip), you already know that Hills cast member Heidi Montag has shamelessly admitted to having undergone nose surgery. But did you also know that fellow cast member Jen Bunney may have had rhinoplasty done? That's the rumor anyway over at The Beverly Hills Institute blog which gives us sometimes-true, sometimes-iffy information about celebrity plastic surgery. It wouldn't be any shocker really to find out that more than one celebrity from "The Hills" has had a nose job. After all, this is a pretty common procedure which can significantly alter the look of your face to make it softer or more refined. The gossipy question to ask is whether these gals used the same surgeon for the plastic surgery or if they got the work done separately. And an even better question for this blog is which of the two Hills stars you think got a better nose out of the deal?

Do Celebrity Plastic Surgery Photos Make You Feel Insecure?
A conversation with a group of women recently turned to the issue of what feelings come up when viewing celebrity plastic surgery photos online, on television or in magazines. Some women say that looking at the work that's been done by celebrities inspires them because they realize that the same changes are possible for their own bodies. Others say that it makes them insecure because they don't consider plastic surgery to be an option for themselves and therefore won't ever look like the stars. Still others say that seeing what the stars go through to look the way they do makes them glad that they stick to only simple maintenance procedures. It's no secret that Hollywood often dictates how women feel about themselves but that doesn't mean that you have to let celebrity plastic surgery affect your self-esteem. Plastic surgery is a personal act which should make you look and feel the way that you want to look and feel. It shouldn't be something that you see others doing - even celebrities - and then feel bad about because the results or choices aren't the same for you. Don't look to celebrities to dictate your plastic surgery choices when you can make well-informed empowering cosmetic procedure choices on your own. photo from bbc news

Silly Celebrity Plastic Surgery Pictures Website
If you have a moment to spend some time browsing online and you want to give yourself a good laugh, you should check out the silly celebrity plastic surgery pictures that are located over at Freaking News. These celebrity surgery pictures aren't actual photos of the stars but instead are composites of what might happen to certain famous people if they surgically obtained the features of another star. The images in this digital photo album are all part of a contest which generated some interesting contributions. For example, the photo above titled "Three Christinas and a Julia" is a composite of Christina Applegate's face, Christina Aguilera's eyes, Christina Ricci's mouth and the nose comes from Julia Roberts. This fun site makes us realize that what looks good on one person doesn't always look right on another!
