The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has been actively conducting research and studies to review plastic surgery throughout the nation. That information is provided to the public as well as to doctors so that we can all understand the nature of current plastic surgery trends. One of their recent surveys found that trends in major metropolitan areas don't always match national trends.
Closer examination of the information revealed six trends that can be seen in recent years in the major metropolitan areas of the United States. Those trends are as follows:
1. An increase in male plastic surgery patients.
2. A decrease in the average age of plastic surgery patients.
3. An increase in patients of ethnic minorities.
4. An increase in the number of couples / family members getting surgery together.
5. A trend towards using minimally invasive procedures instead of surgery.
6. An increase in interest in body contouring procedures by patients of massive weight loss surgery.

Question of the Day: Why would national plastic surgery trends differ from regional plastic surgery trends?
