Popular Plastic Surgery Show Comes to an End

One of the most popular television shows ever to focus specifically on the world of plastic surgery is going to be coming to its inevitable end after it reaches one hundred episodes on the year. That's right. FX has announced that Nip/Tuck is slated to finish out a few more rounds of drama and then to be ended in 2011.

Nip/Tuck is an interesting show in terms of the plastic surgery portion of it. The majority of the show centers around the drama unfolding between the plastic surgeons and their families. However, each show does feature some sort of plastic surgery topic. In many cases, the topics are outrageous. However, the show has arguably brought some of the hottest topics in plastic surgery to the table for more mainstream discussion.

No one would argue that Nip/Tuck shows the reality of plastic surgery. It's designed to be a drama. But it also doesn't shy away from the issues that are of interest to plastic surgeons and their patients. It's been a great addition to the FX lineup for several years and it will be interesting to see what plastic surgery topics it tackles before coming to its conclusion.

Question of the Day: How has Nip/Tuck brought plastic surgery to the mainstream TV-viewing audience?
