The majority of people who go to a plastic surgeon in order to discuss plastic surgery for their breasts are going to discuss either a breast augmentation or a breast lift. Some are going to talk about a breast reduction. However, there is an underserved area of the population that is also seeking breast plastic surgery - women who are seeking reconstructive surgery for their breasts after damage to the breasts caused by treatment for breast cancer.
There are many different issues related to this topic. One of the problems is that the surgery that is performed usually removes chunks of the breast including the nipple making it very difficult to adequately reconstruct the breast during plastic surgery. However, it is possible to spare the nipple during many breast cancer treatment procedures.
