A stripper has been arrested after allegedly conning a woman for $60,000, which she used towards a breast augmentation. 33-year-old Glenda Jean Moore lied to her friend several times about needing money to pay for school and treat her breast cancer, ‘worked’ at Camelot East Strip Club in Lexington, Kentucky. Her friend was continuously giving her thousands of dollars assuming she would get repaid for her charity; instead her stripper friend was using it for cosmetic surgery.
It is quite common to hear of people taking on extra jobs or overtime work to save up money for plastic surgery, but this woman took it way too far. Is this a sign that cosmetic surgery has become far too obsessive of a craze? It makes me wonder, is our society succumbing to Hollywood’s outrageous demands that people look unscathed by aging and are in perfect shape, no matter what socioeconomic status they belong to. Plastic surgery is a great means to enhancing your appearance and sculpting your body, however such antics and unlawful behavior should not be accepted. We should keep the lofty values and credibility to the industry and not let one solitary mishap ruin a booming and reputable industry be tarnished.
