Professor of Plastic Surgery at University of Iowa Dr. John Canady was inducted as the President of the ASPS at the annual assembly this week. As leader of this coveted position and organization, Dr. Canady will be foremost authority on plastic and reconstructive surgery for this next year. Dr. Canady has been a devout member of the organization serving on the board since 1992, and most recently as the treasurer.
As a surgeon Dr. Canady has specialized in head and neck plastic and reconstruction, and earned his degrees at the University of Iowa and his residency at the University of Kansas. He has committed his career to furthering research and education in his respective field. Just this year he released a new book to aid Medical students on their quest to becoming physicians: 101 Tips to Getting the Residency You Want: A Guide for Medical Students.
