Elevess Dermal Fillers

Elevess Q&A | Ask a Doctor about Elevess

General Information

What is Elevess?

Elevess is the first cosmetic filler containing lidocaine to receive approval from the FDA for the treatment of facial lines and wrinkles, as well as scars and other depressions in the skin. Because it contains lidocaine, an anesthetic, treatment with Elevess results in considerably less discomfort than other fillers.

How does Elevess work?

Elevess is derived from hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally occurring in skin and other connective tissues, and which attracts and traps moisture and nutrients, making the skin appear plumper and fuller. Once injected beneath the skin, Elevess acts to fill wrinkles, lines and other depressions.

What are the advantages of Elevess over other procedures?

The Elevess injectable filler offers many advantages over other filler products, including:

• Less discomfort and bleeding during the procedure
• Less bruising and swelling during recovery
• Less discomfort during recovery
• Immediate results
• Better tolerance

How is the procedure performed?

Prior to the actual procedure, your specialist may apply a topical anesthetic to the area to minimize the discomfort of the injection. Because Elevess contains lidocaine, no local anesthetic is necessary. After the topical is applied, your specialist will use a fine needle to inject the Elevess material along the areas to be filled. Depending upon the size of the area, more than one injection may be necessary to achieve the results you’re looking for. Most procedures take no more than 20 to 30 minutes to complete, and all procedures are performed on an outpatient basis.

Who is a candidate for Elevess?

Elevess is an excellent option for any individual in good overall health who:

• Has fine to deep wrinkles, folds or creases
• Has hollow areas, scars or other facial depressions
• Does not have serious underlying medical conditions, including bleeding and autoimmune disorders
• Wants a procedure that offers no downtime
• Is seeking immediate visible results

What is the recovery like?

Since there is less blood loss during treatment with Elevess than with other fillers, there is also less swelling afterward. You may also experience some temporary redness in the injection areas. You can expect to return to your regular activities immediately after your treatment with Elevess.

What will my results be like?

You will notice visible results immediately after your procedure, and your results will last from three months to as long as a year in some men and women. Subsequent touch-up procedures will make your results last longer.

What are the risks?

All injections carry a small risk of infection. Individuals with health conditions may face additional risks and should discuss any health conditions with the specialist prior to treatment.

Is the Elevess procedure approved for use in the U.S.?

Elevess is approved for use in the USA.

Is the Elevess procedure covered by insurance companies?

Elevess is not covered by insurance companies.

How much does Elevess cost?

The cost of your Elevess procedure will vary, based on the extent of the treatment area, usually ranging from $500 to $700 per treatment area.
