Penis Surgery

If you are a man and want to increase the size your penis, there are two forms of penis surgery that can help you. The first involves lengthening the penis by releasing the ligaments that attach the penis to the pelvis. The second method injects fat suctioned from other parts of your body, usually the abdomen, to make the penis larger.

Risks May Include

• Infection

• Scarring

• Loss of skin

• Bleeding

• Skin irritation

• Numbness

• Loss of penile function

The surgeons who perform penis surgery state that they will only do the operation for men who are mature and emotionally stable. They also say that there needs to be realistic expectations about the outcome.

To lengthen the penis, an incision is made at the junction of the penis with the abdomen. Your surgeon will separate the skin and fat from the ligament that supports the penis. The ligament and adjacent tissue will then be released or divided. Avoiding the underling blood vessels and nerves, your surgeon will stretch the skin and fatty tissue over the defect. Stitches are used to close the wound.

Drains can be so that fluids don't collect. Two weeks after surgery you will begin to apply traction to the penis using either small lead weights or an elastic device that will be used for around six months.

Types of Drains

• Passive drains channel fluid to the outside of the body.

• Active drains are connected to suction.

For the first couple of weeks following surgery you will experience pain and swelling. Sexual activity should be avoided for several weeks.
