Labia Reduction Cost

Labia reduction surgery is for women with enlarged or uneven labia minora. Large labia minora or vaginal lips can lead to discomfort with certain clothing, exercise, and sex. Depending on your choice of doctor and geographic location vaginoplasty prices may range between $4500 and $9000.

Labiaplasty is the reduction of the labia minora or the inner lips of the vagina. Lasers, fine scissors or a knife can be used. After labia reduction, the labia edges are then sewn together with dissolvable stitches. Surgery lasts between one and two hours and is generally performed under general anesthesia. Spinal anesthetic may also be used if you wish to be awake.

Labia Majora (outer lips) Reduction

This common anatomical variation may be worsened by childbirth or by weight gain or loss. Large or uneven vaginal lips can cause pain, hygiene problems and embarrassment. They may sometimes be improved by liposuction. In more severe cases, surgical reduction is necessary.

The length of surgery is between 1 to 2 hours. Labiaplasty is an outpatient procedure usually performed under local anesthesia. After surgery you may experience some mild discomfort and swelling, which usually disappears completely after 1-2 weeks. Labial incisions usually heal and are rarely noticeable.

You may need surgery if:

• If your vaginal lips, or labia is noticeable when you wear a bathing suit or tight-fitting jeans.

• If your labia causes you pain or discomfort during sexual intercourse or while riding a bicycle.

• If having large or uneven labia prevents you from having an intimate relationship because you're embarrassed by the way that you look.

You should not have labiaplasty if you:

• Are pregnant or menstruating

• Have complications from an episiotomy

• Have a yeast infection or genital herpes outbreak

• Have problems with bladder incontinence

• Have a prolapsed uterus (your uterus has fallen

into the vaginal canal)
