If you have a cleaning service come in to clean for you, they do a great job cleaning or a bad job cleaning. The same is true of cosmetic surgery procedures in most cases you will experience fantastic results, but in there is a chance that you will receive bad cosmetic surgery results.

Like anything in life, there is the good, the bad, and the ugly! But also true, is the fact that if you do your homework, a little bit of research, you will minimize your risk of bad cosmetic surgery. When you go in for your initial consult with your cosmetic surgeon, ask specific questions and ask to see before and after pictures of your surgeon's other patients who have already had the procedure that you are seeking.

Ask:

• What are my choices in techniques and procedures?

• What usually happens during the surgery? How long does the procedure last?

• Where will the incisions be made?

• How much pain can I expect after surgery?

• How long does it take to see the full effect of my surgery?

Most cosmetic surgeries have a low rate of complications, but be aware that every surgery carries some risk. Be sure to discuss the possible risks and complications with your surgeon so that are fully informed before your surgery. Some patients have reactions to the anesthesia or sedation used during surgery. Most anesthetic complications occur with general anesthesia.
