Hymenoplasty

In some cultures, a woman's hymen can affect her marriage prospects, her family's reputation, and even her very life. The value of the bride is valued for religious, social, and even economic reasons based on her virginity. So for these women a hymenoplasty procedure is necessary for their social status, happiness, and even preservation of life.

Where is the hymen?

If you think that the hymen is located on the inside of the vagina, you are not alone, but the truth of the matter is that the hymen is located outside of the vagina. The hymen is part of the vulva, which is an external genital organ. The hymen is a thin layer of tissue that is easy to break. The majority of women have their hymen broken during their first intercourse encounter where others have had their hymen broken during sport or other such activity.

Hymen repair, hymen reconstruction, hymen surgery, hymenoplasty or revirgination all refer to cosmetic surgery that restores your hymen.

Hymenoplasty is a simple procedure that repairs a torn hymen. There are two types of hymenoplasty:

Simple Hymenoplasty

Your surgeon will piece together the remnant by closing the tear. It is a rather simple procedure and can be completely healed in three to seven days. The hymen tissue is pulled together so that the vagina will again be covered by it. The risk of fever and infection is low since hymen is relatively avascular.

Alloplant

If your hymen can't not be restored, a tear-through biomaterial will be inserted and act as your hymen. Hymen implant is an easy procedure than can be done under local anesthetic and as a day case surgery. It takes less than two hour and you can return to work the next day. The implanted hymen is not easy to notice and it is not really a hymen.
