Male Breast Reduction and Excess Tissue

Something that men take great pride in is their masculinity. Men show off their masculine traits by honing their muscles, doing laborious physical work, and showing off their chests. However, some men are ashamed of their appearance, because a female hormone has stepped in.

These men suffer from a condition known as gynecomastia, which requires male breast reduction and which is marked by an increase of the female hormone estrogen. The condition involves there being an excess amount of fatty tissue. In some men, there is only a limited amount of tissue, and they don't feel as ashamed about their breasts.

The men that need male breast reduction have an otherwise average torso. The excess tissue has accumulated to such an extent that the breasts could literally be placed into a female bra. Not only is this embarrassing for the male in question, but it will cause significant self esteem issues. Male breast reduction is designed to help in both situations.

The male breast reduction procedure is a process in which a liposuction technique is used to gently remove the excess tissue. The incision is usually made directly below each nipple, and is small enough so that no significant scarring remains. Sometimes, a bit of a lifting method is incorporated to pull the muscles tightly back into place.

The overall cost of such a procedure varies, in accordance with the extent of work that needs to be done to reduce the breasts, as well as the pricing plan of each individual surgeon. For men who are considering getting this kind of procedure, it is thus important that they have the necessary finances.
