Male Breast Reduction Surgery: Helping Those with Genetic Traits

Sometimes genetics can be quite kind. Maybe long life and no wrinkles run in a family. Or, perhaps everyone in a family is tall and thin no matter what they eat. Then again, genetics can also be cruel, and can place people in awkward anatomical situations.

For men, this often surfaces in the form of "man boobs", which can be fixed by male breast reduction surgery. Of course, sometimes men with this problem have a wish to dress as a woman, in which case they won't be needing the male breast reduction surgery, now will they?

But it all seriousness, male breast reduction surgery is something that has given thousands of men their self-esteem back. Many of these men suffer from a condition called gynecomastia, in which they have an excess amount of fatty tissue in their breasts.

In fact, male breast reduction surgery, while usually performed on full-grown men, is sometimes also performed on teenage guys who have hormonal problems. Before this procedure can be performed on them, however, tests must be done to determine if the hormonal problems can be corrected by medicinal, rather than surgical, methods.

Overall, this kind of procedure takes a couple of hours to complete, and involves the excess tissue being removed. In some cases, guys who want the appearance of muscular chests will then ask for breast implants (flat ones of course!) that will give their chests that defined look. However, this procedure should only be done if the problem wasn't corrected by improved diet and exercise.
