Nose Surgery in Scottsdale, Arizona (AZ)

A rhinoplasty is simply nose surgery or a nose job. With this surgical procedure you can improve the appearance of your nose by changing its shape or size. Or maybe you just want your nose to look like it fits better with the rest of your facial features. You choose! This procedure can also be performed to correct birth defects or injuries.

The Procedure

Rhinoplasty is performed as an outpatient, normally under either general anesthesia or local with sedation. The incisions can be made just inside your nostrils or across the base of your nose, or at the lower outer corners of your nostrils, depending on what you are having done. Your nasal bones, cartilage, and soft tissues will be maneuvered to form the desired shape that you are wanting.

Risks

• Bruising
• Swelling
• Headaches
• Minimal bleeding

RECOVERY

You will need to wear a cast or splint for about 7-10 days. Over-the-counter pain medication can be taken to help control any discomfort. Any external stitches will be removed about 4-6 days following your procedure, while internal ones will naturally dissolve. Bruising and swelling will normally fade in about 2-4 weeks. While you will take pleasure in the outcome of your new nose within several months of surgery, the final shape of your nose will take about 12-14 months to experience the full effect.
