This procedure can be completed with either twilight or general anesthesia and it is considered an outpatient surgery. Your cosmetic surgeon will mark your thighs while you are standing up. Your skin is pinched and lifted towards the groin. Your doctor will decide how much skin should be eliminated. In most instances, your cosmetic surgeon will attempt to hide the scar in the groin area. Additional skin and fat are taken away; the remaining skin is lifted and tightened.
Recovery
It is recommended that you take 1-2 weeks off work with no exercise allowed for 4 weeks. You will need a great deal of relaxation and limited leg motion to help minimize scarring. You should anticipate bruising and swelling and your thigh area may feel stretched.
