Breast augmentation can enhance the size and/or shape of your breast. The standard implant is made up of saline and silicone, however there is also an inflatable implant available.
During surgery an incision is made either in the crease where the breast meets the chest, in the armpit, or in the dark skin surrounding the nipple. The surgeon will then lift the breast tissue and skin to create a pocket behind your breast tissue or in the muscle itself. The implants are then centered beneath your nipples.
Recovery time after breast augmentation usually takes several weeks and each patient must understand how to promote safe healing post-operation. You may also experience some burning and bruising that should resolve in a couple of weeks.
